It is a busy week! 
First up is a talk about Captain America: The WInter Solider now that both Matthew and Patrick have seen it. They did not agree on everything about the movie so it was a great review. They also touched on Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men Days of Furtue Past and other upcoming movies.
Next it was May the Fourth and Star Wars was everywhere in the news. New cast announcements, EU is no more, Star Wars: Rebels trailer and much more.
Finally they talk about Free Comic Book Day and all the great books that they picked up. The stand out for Patrick is Steam Wars while Matt really dug Epic. What was your favorite FCBD pick-up?

FCN Podcast #26: Thor: The Dark World, Afterlife with Archie, She-Hulk, Harbinger, Walking Dead


The pick of the week is Harbinger: Bleeding Monk #0 from Valiant.
The episode starts off with a review of Thor: Dark World which was a huge hit in theaters. Then we talk about the upcoming marvel movies includes Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy as well as a new top 10 super-hero movie of all time! 
Comics include The Returning #1, Afterlife with Archie #4, Blackout #1, Harbinger: Bleeding Monk #0, Sex Criminals #5, Injustice v2 #1-4, Light Brigade, She-Hulk #2, Captain Midnight #9, Noah.
Then talk turns to the new Big Trouble in Little China comic, Ant-Man, and the shocking events of this weeks episode of the Walking Dead. 
And they still are not watching Agents of SHIELD. 

Episode #025: Fantastic Four, Loki, Five Weapons, Arrow, Walking Dead and Sherlock


The pick of the week is Loki: Ragnarok and Roll #1 from Boom Studios. 

The episode starts off with new comic books including Fantastic Four #1, Loki: Ragnarok and Roll #1, The Adventures of Nilson Groundthumper, and Five Weapons #7.

Then Matt and Patrick talk about the state genre TV including Arrow, Sleepy Hollow, Walking Dead and Sherlock among others.

There is also a spirited debate about the casting of the Fantastic Four movie and the role of race in super hero movies.

Episode #024: Image Expo, Diamond 2013 Market Share Report, Violence in the DC New 52, The Future of Star Wars Comics. Pick of the week: Afterlife with Archie #3.


The pick of the week is Afterlife With Archie #3 from Archie Comics.

Image Expo gave us lots of new comic book announcements, mainly from previously Marvel creators, with a few really interesting titles coming in 2014.

Diamond released its 2013 sales numbers and market share report and there were a few real surprises there.

Matt tried to catch up on the DC New 52 line and the discussion turns to how dark that comic line is and how the constant mass destruction and ultra-violence within their pages wears on the readers. 

The 2013 final box office numbers came out so how did the heavy slate of hero movies do worldwide?

New comic reviews include Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year 2 #1, Afterlife with Archie #3 (pick of the week), Sex Criminals #4, and Skyman #1.

Matt read the recent Neil Adams comic Batman: Odyssey and tries to explain to Patrick what the hell was going on in the series.

Dark Horse announced that they were losing the rights to produce new Star Wars comics after this year and Patrick has a great idea to wrap up their run. We talk about the history of Star Wars comics and what we would like to see in 2015 leading up  to the new movies. 

Playstation Now was announced at CES and the discussion turns to streaming media and how the new service, along with the WWE Network, may change the way we get entertainment.

2014 looks to be a great year for movies and we pick out some of our must see flicks of the coming year.

Patrick wraps up the episode with a talk about the TV shows he is watching with a focus on American Horror Story and Sleepy Hollow among many others.

Episode #023: 2013 In Review - Our Best and Worst in Comics, Movies, TV and Video Games. Pick of the week: Alex + Ada.


The pick of the week is Alex + Ada #2 from Image.

This episode four new comics are reviewed; Alex + Ada #2, Superior Spider-Man #6, The Star Wars #0 and Imagine Agents #3.

Then it is on to our epic 2013 year in review featuring our best and worst picks of the past year.

We start off with movies and both agree that Pacific Rim is our best movie of 2013, sorry 12 Years a Slave. Other movies making the good list include Despicable Me 2, World War Z, End of the World, Frozen, and World's End. Our worst of the year include the Lone Ranger, Man of Steel, Star Trek 2 and Iron Man 3. 

Then we turn our sophisticated gaze towards the television and Matt chose Sleepy Hollow as his pick of the year while Patrick chose Game of Thrones. Other good shows include American Horror Story, Broadchurch, Toy Hunter, Blacklist, Orange is the New Black, Under the Dome and Key and Peele. Our dogs of the year on the tube include Agents of Shield, High School USA, and Family Guy.

Matt talks about his favorite games of the year but LEGO City: Undercover was his choice for Game of the Year. Other highlights included Super Mario 3D World, Steamworld Dig, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, The Last of Us, Rayman Legends, Pokemon X&Y, and Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. 

We finish with a look back at the world of comic books. Our mutual Comic of the Year (ongoing) was Superior Spider-Man from Marvel. Matt's Comic of the Year (Limited) was Reality Check from Image while Patricks was 47 Ronin from Dark Horse. Other books that made the best of list include Masks, No Tomorrow, Imagine Agents, It Came from Beyond!, Death Sentence, Saga, Skyward, Black Beetle, Sex Crimals, Injustice, and Afterlife With Archie.

If that was not enough the boys play comic book trivia from the board game Comic Crusades throughout the program.
